Anne Carlson Schirmer, LCSW

Anne is a therapist and has a private practice in Alexandria, Virginia. She offers individual therapy, in-person and telehealth, to adults living in Virginia and Washington, DC. Anne’s practice focuses primarily on adults and parents who want to find balance, improve their well-being and feel better.

Anne earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University and has been practicing social work for 25 years, working with children, teens, young adults, families and adults. Anne has worked in different settings including schools, communities, hospitals, clinics and private practice. Anne is also a certified health coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York. Through the lens of clinical social work practice and holistic health, Anne looks to integrate the mind and body experience for wellness and inner peace.
